New EU sanctions imposed while TV channels were unpluged on Hotbird

EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg imposed new sanctions on Monday 15 October which include trade , finance, energy and transport industries of Islamic Republic , following an oil embargo and a central-bank asset freeze earlier this year ,while European satellite provider Eutelsat pulled the plug on several satellite channels and radio stations broadcasting on Hot Bird satellite.The Iranian channels being taken off the air from Hotbird include Press TV, al-Alam, Jam-e-Jam 1 and 2, Sahar 1 and 2, Islamic Republic of Iran News Network, Quran TV and Al-Kawsar.
