Syrian rebels launch attack on air force base

OOpposition fighters in Syria are using tanks, rockets and mortars to try to capture an air force base. The government uses the Taftanaz base to deploy helicopter gunships against opposition towns and villages. The assault comes a day before a crucial opposition meeting in Qatar where the US is expected to push for an overhaul of the Syrian National Council which is considered ineffective. The Free Syrian army is using tanks captured from government forces to attack Taftanaz airbase. From the Syrian-Turkish border, Al Jazeera's Andrew Simmons has the latest.
