Syrian army pushes insurgents out of Damascus countryside

The Syrian army has launched operations in the countryside of the capital, Damascus in an effort to drive foreign-backed insurgents out. Military sources say they have so far inflicted heavy losses on the militants and regained control of several areas on the city's outskirts.
