Syria - SAA fights near th Syria-Turkey border 28/01

The Syrian Army says it is currently in control of a key target -- Naba
al-Murr, in the north of Latakia district, close to the Syria-Turkey
border. Local sources confirm that the army has hold of the strategic
point, which is being patrolled by Special Forces. However, it is
believed that the rebels are trying to recapture it.

In the last two days there have been fierce clashes, in which insurgents have been injured and killed.

The
Syrian Army is carrying out a surveillance mission to track suspicious
movements and to thwart any attempts by the rebels to surround and seize
the target.

The northern regions of Syria, near the border with
Turkey, are made up of dense forests that force a specific kind of
fighting, when everything depends on sudden penetration and sniper
attacks.
