Iran's Great Prophet-8 maneuver (2nd Day)

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force tested its new weapons and exercised different tactics of electronic warfare in the massive wargames underway in Iran's Southeastern province of Kerman.

The IRGC Ground Force started massive wargames, codenamed Payambar-e Azam 8 (The Great Prophet 8), which include exercising different defense tactics, in Southern Iran on Saturday.

The massive wargames are underway in Iran's Southern and Southeastern regions of Kerman, Zarand, Shaabjareh, Siriz, Toghroljerd, Yazdanabad and Sang.

Elaborating on the missions of the drills, Spokesman of the Wargames General Hamid Sarkheili told reporters that the operating units are using and testing new weapons designed and produced by the IRGC's Research and Technology Center.

"Today we have delivered them (new weapons) to IRGC units and we are testing and using them," Sarkheili added.

He added that the IRGC electronic warfare units are fully monitoring the wargames zone using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and are closely assessing the incoming signals.

The IRGC drills are aimed at maintaining and improving the combat preparedness of the IRGC Ground Forces, testing the latest combat systems of the IRGC Ground Force and exercising different asymmetric warfare tactics.
